Small Leather Goods & Wear
Tailored Bali Leather Jacket Fitting Service
Made by taking your body measurements in person or remotely, cutting a pattern to those numbers, and hand-assembling the jacket from selected hide, so the finished piece follows your shoulders and arms instead of a generic size chart. We run that fitting service end to end: measurement, leather selection, pattern, sample fit where the schedule allows, and final stitching in our own workshop.

Your pattern, for repeatsIn Short
A jacket pattern is built from more measurement points than a shirt because leather does not stretch back the way woven cotton does.
We record chest, waist, hip, shoulder width, back length, sleeve length, bicep, wrist and neck, then decide how much ease to add depending on whether you want a close moto silhouette or a relaxed bomber you can layer over a hoodie.
The fitting is a conversation as much as a measuring exercise. We ask where you will wear the jacket, because one made for European winters needs a different hide weight and lining than one worn on cool evenings in Ubud.
Riders want longer sleeves and a lower back hem; city jackets are usually shorter and squarer.
The Service
What Does A Tailored Leather Jacket Fitting In Bali Actually Involve?
The fitting is a conversation as much as a measuring exercise.
- Measurement session in the studio, or a guided remote measurement using photos and a tape measure at home
- Leather selection: weight, grain, colour and finish, handled with physical swatches
- Design decisions: collar type, zip or button front, pocket count, lining, hardware finish
- Pattern cutting and cutting of the hide
- Assembly, stitching, hardware fitting and final pressing
- Fit check and adjustment before you take the jacket home or we ship it
Getting Started
How To Start Your Jacket Order
Every jacket begins with a short conversation, not a form. Send your height, usual jacket size, the style you want and your dates in Bali, and we reply with available fitting slots and an honest view of what is achievable. Pricing is quoted per jacket once design and leather are agreed.

The Hide
Which Leathers Work Best For A Custom Jacket?
Full-grain leather keeps the outermost layer of the hide intact, which is why it develops a patina over years instead of flaking the way heavily corrected surfaces do. That single material fact drives most of the jacket conversation, because the softer and thinner the hide, the more it drapes; the thicker and firmer it is, the more the jacket holds a structured shape.
| Leather character | Handles like | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Soft, lightweight lamb-type hide | Drapes, wrinkles at the elbow quickly | City jackets, travel packing, warm climates |
| Medium-weight cow hide | Structured but breaks in with wear | All-round moto and bomber styles |
| Heavier, firmer hide | Stiff at first, softens slowly | Riding jackets and heavy-duty use |
| Suede or nubuck finish | Matte, textured, marks more easily | Casual, fashion-led pieces |
We show real swatches rather than screen images, because leather colour photographs differently than it looks in your hand. If you are undecided, book a Bali custom leather design session first so the material and silhouette are settled before any hide is cut.
Remote Orders
Can You Order A Tailored Jacket Without Visiting Bali?
Yes. Remote orders are handled through guided self-measurement, where we send a written measuring sequence and check your numbers against reference photos before cutting. The accuracy of a remote order depends entirely on how the tape is held, which is why we ask for photos of the tape in position rather than only the numbers themselves.
Photos of the tape in position
Not only the numbers themselves. The accuracy of a remote order depends entirely on how the tape is held.
The intended fit, in plain language
For example, “two fingers of room at the chest over a light sweater”, confirmed before production. That prevents the most common disappointment, a jacket that measures correctly but feels tighter than the customer imagined.
Timeline & Matching
How Long Does A Tailored Jacket Take To Make?
A jacket is the most labour-intensive garment in a leather workshop because it has curved seams, a lining, and hardware that all have to line up. Production time depends on the complexity of the design, the availability of the hide you choose, and how busy the workshop is that month, so we confirm a specific timeline in writing when we quote your jacket rather than promising a fixed number of days up front.
If you are travelling on a short itinerary, tell us your departure date at the first message. In many cases we can plan the fitting early in your trip and ship the finished jacket to your home address afterwards. If you are based in Bali or returning later in the year, a slower schedule usually gives more room for a sample fit before final assembly.
Leather ages as a set, so many clients order matching pieces at the same time to keep the colour family consistent. A belt cut from the same hide batch is the most common addition, and you can size it precisely through our Bali leather belt service.
